Milton Speedway was the only legal dragstrip in Vermont. A racing boom in the 1960s saw people from all walks of life, and from all over the country, come to race everything from the family car to modified dragsters that could reach speeds of over 190 miles an hour. The track eventually shut down as speeds got too fast for the track location.
