Warren Austin
Warren Austin was a lawyer and United States Senator from Vermont. He had a strong interest in international travel and foreign policy, eventually becoming the first official United States Ambassador to the United Nations in 1947. He believed strongly in diplomacy and peace, was involved with a number of important world events while there, including the creation of Israel, the implementation of the Marshall Plan, and the beginnings of the Cold War and Korean War.
