Essex Junction was incorporated in 1892, growing out of the conjunction of rail lines crossing there, with 36 trains a day running on four tracks at one time, alongside restaurants, a hotel, and the Drury brick yard. The brick yard lasted for over 100 years and over 500 million bricks came out of it.
