Brookfield Floating Bridge
The floating bridge in Brookfield is one of only two floating bridges in the United States. The first floating bridge was built around 1820 on top of the frozen pond. Subsequent bridges have improved upon the technology. The current wooden bridge was restored in the last decade as an historic preservation project.
