Circumferential Highway
Ultimately only partially completed, the Circumferential Highway was originally conceived in the 1950s as part of a larger interstate system plan to help move people in and around Burlington. One of the big drivers for this highway was IBM coming to Vermont, which for many years was one of the biggest employers in the state.
