Waterbury Dam
Started in 1934, and completed in 1938, the earthen Waterbury Dam is an amazing feat of engineering and water control technology of its time. Built in response to the devastating 1927 flood, the Army Corps of Engineers brought in World War I veteran work crews to complete the project. There were 2,000 men living at the base of this dam with their own city amenities, constructing this and other area dams.
