The 1916 Vermont-filmed silent movie, "A Vermont Romance" is the story of a young couple, following them from the countryside to the big city. Produced by the Vermont Progressive Party, it promoted modernization of Vermont, wanting people to move from the countryside into the cities and get jobs in industry.
