Our “History in the 252” project aims to highlight a “nugget” of history from each municipality in Vermont (bonus Gore content possible). Local historical societies & museums around the state are invited to share a story from their town to build a full picture of the robust, diverse, and unique history that is found and preserved in every corner of Vermont.
Submissions can be made at https://form.jotform.com/230095812445050
Submission Guidelines
- Stories for each town can highlight any number of historical things- an event, person, business, collections item, unique feature, etc. and can be from any time period.
- Submissions are limited to 1,000 characters. Entries may be edited for clarity and consistency. We will rely on the submitter to ensure their entry is historically accurate.
- Please include 1-2 digital images that help illustrate your story. Images at a minimum of 1MB are preferred.
- The project is meant to help highlight local historical societies & museums, so while individuals may submit items, we encourage LHS efforts for the towns they represent. If more than one entry is submitted for a town, VHS will choose the entry to use.
