50 for 250: The Book is now available

Our latest exhibit, 50 for 250 is now officially open at the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier. This exhibit features 50 objects from our collection that tell the story of the last 250 years of Vermont's history. Each object was the subject of considerable scholarship, with invited authors writing an essay about each one.

We've collected those essays into a handsome book, and they're accompanied by pictures of hundreds of additional items from the collection that provide context for their place in our state's history. That book is now available, as both a limited hardcover and oversized trade paperback edition.

The hardcover is only available from us: it costs $49.95 and you can find it at the museum bookstore in Montpelier and our online bookstore. The trade paperback is widely available: you can purchase it from the museum bookstore, the Vermont History Center, our online bookstore, select indie bookstores from throughout the state, and from Amazon.com.

You can find our entire selection of Vermont history books here.
