Members of our Activating 21st Century Local History cohort conducted inventories in 2025 and 2026 in support of their long-term Active Collections goals. This document, downloadable as an Excel spreadsheet, includes two generic templates for basic and detailed inventories, as well as two customized templates based on those used by cohort members Waterbury Historical Society and Fayston Historical Society. Consider how they determined the scope of their inventory to meet their organization's needs, and do the same as you adjust these templates for your inventory project!
