Dr. Laura Plantz
Dr. Laura Plantz practiced medicine in Putney for 40 years, starting in 1879. She attended the Pennsylvania Medical College and was the first Vermont woman to receive a medical degree. She spent several years out west before returning to her home town at the age of 50.
