You can ask our librarians and library volunteers questions about Vermont history online!

The VHS does not have the state's vital records or newspapers.  Please do not request birth, death, marriage records or obituaries with these forms. See Genealogy Research Resources for more information on obtaining vital records.

• Reference Inquiry: Use this link to send us a reference question. We are happy to help with specific questions and will provide assistance to the extent possible at this time. However, answering broad, complex, or in-depth research projects may require visiting us.
• Order Scans of Documents and Photographs: Use this form to request scans of printed, manuscript, or photographic material from library collections. Be advised that we may need to set limits or restrictions on scanning to protect fragile materials, respect copyright law, or manage staff resources.
