Local Historical Societies Guide to All In Vermont (PDF)

The All In Vermont project is a call for Vermont students to study Vermont’s inhabitants, notable events, industry, movements, and culture that demonstrate the state’s continued evolution since the revolution. This project promotes community engagement with local knowledge and collections, helping students uncover the enduring history that makes their home unique. The All In Guide for local historical societies includes planning tips, research support, and suggestions for working with students and primary sources.

Active Collections encourages us to think of creative ways to increase use of our collections. Engaging students and educators is a great way to get your collections out of storage and into the community. While these resources were created for a specific project, they can offer you inspiration as you make partnerships with local history teachers and develop programs that work for students at any grade levels.
