Vermont People, Places, and Ideas
***Limited spots are still available in the virtual classes, but all of the in-person classes for 2022-2023 are currently full. Students can participate in some or all sessions. The classes are recommended for children ages 7 to 12. Some activities involve reading and writing. Pre-registration is REQUIRED for in-person and virtual classes; space is limited. Each session includes history-related activities that focus on the month's theme.
September - Famous Vermonters

October - Vermont Artists

Examine works of art by Vermont Artists and learn how they captured Vermont stories.
November - Vermont Government

Explore how state government works and visit the State House.
December - Vermont People

Learn about the lives of ordinary Vermonters over time.
January - Vermont Weather

Play a winter game and learn how weather has affected Vermonters in the past.
February - Vermont Geography

Use maps to consider how Vermont's history was influenced by geography.
March - Vermont Businesses

Examine historic documents and artifacts to learn about the history of businesses in Vermont.
April - Preserving Vermont's History

Learn how stories of the past are saved and shared.

Explore continuity and change throughout Vermont's history.
