In 1960, CBS premiered Route 66, a TV series following two men as they drove across the country in a Corvette. Around the same time, the Vermont town of Waltham reopened a small road that linked two parts of the town, and decided to call the road "Route 66". It's not technically a US route, and it's a name that's confused map apps.

Vermont Historical Society Steve Perkins and ABC 22 & Fox 44 anchor Mike Hoey headed down to check out the street and learn a bit about how the road got its name.
