In May 1934, Congress enacted the Bank Robbery Act of 1934, which designated bank robberies a federal crime, to be investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Just a month later in Danville, a trio of bank robbers, Eddie Bentz, Avery Simons, and Clyde Emmerich robbed the Caledonia National Bank, prompting the FBI's first such investigation.

Vermont Historical Society Executive Director Steve Perkins and ABC 22 & Fox 44 Anchor Mike Hoey speak with Patty Conly, the bank manager's daughter, about the crime.
