Man standing by scanner with open book in cradleThe Leahy Library of the Vermont Historical Society has three scanners available for use by Local Historical Societies that are looking to create digital images of items in their collections. Each of the three scanners is best suited for different types and sizes of materials.

WideTEK 25 flatbed scanner: for small to moderately sized flat materials, like photographs and manuscript papers, that do not exceed 18.5 x 25”.

WideTEK 36 scanner: for larger flat materials, like maps, posters, and architectural plans, that have a width of 36” or less.

Bookeye 5 scanner: for bound materials, like books, pamphlets, and magazines.

Each of these scanners can produce high-resolution color scans and has a USB port, which allows for the easy transfer of scanned images to a portable flash drive. Scanners may be used by appointment only. Please contact library@vermonthistory.org for more details and to schedule an appointment. Library research fees apply ($9 day/Free for members). This opportunity is currently only open to collecting organizations, not individuals.
