National History Day Workshop for Teachers, Fort Ticonderoga, Ticonderoga, NY
• 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Open to teachers from New York, Vermont and beyond, this day-long workshop serves as both an introduction to the History Day program and as an opportunity for experienced teachers to expand their involvement.

The workshop is free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. Participating teachers can either pack a lunch or eat at America's Fort Cafe during the lunch break.

Vermont History Day Help & Research at UVM Libraries
• 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Help available at two locations: UVM Howe Library, 538 Main Street, Burlington AND Silver Special Collections, 48 University Place, Burlington

Meet with librarians at at Howe Library and/or Silver Special Collections and find help and resources for your Vermont History Day research project. Attendees can get help focusing research, developing research strategies, locating primary and secondary sources, evaluating sources, and developing a bibliography. Howe Library is the largest library in Vermont and an excellent stop for anyone researching national or international topics. In addition to the main collection and databases, the library houses a Government Information Repository, and students with Vermont topics can visit Silver Special Collections in the Billings Library to get help finding primary sources in the Vermont Research Collection.

Submission Deadline for all papers and website entries. Judges receive these entries before the contest date and need time to read and review the projects before meeting with students.

Papers - email papers to education@vermonthistory.org by midnight

Websites - access to website editing closes at midnight

Changes to titles, categories or participants made after this date may not be reflected in judging assignments or documentation.

Monday, April 1, 2019

Submission Deadline for all documentaries. Students must submit their documentaries online by midnight using the web-based file sharing application WeTranfer. See instructions for details.

The early deadline is in place to help alleviate technical difficulties at the contest. Judges will not view documentaries before meeting with the students.
