Vermont History at the Barre Heritage Festival!
Join us for a trip down memory lane at Barre Heritage Days on Thursday, September 21 and Friday, September 22 from 9AM to 4PM at the Vermont History Center (Old Spaulding High School) in Barre.
Enjoy free access to the Historical Society’s Leahy Research Library, including access to Spaulding photos and yearbooks, and a special Barre-themed exhibit. We will be offering special guided tours of the building at 10am and 1pm. You can also visit our current exhibit: “Icons, Oddities, and Wonders.”

Join State Archaeologist Jess Robinson, Professor Matt Moriarty, and students from Vermont State University for a tour of the Vermont Archaeology Heritage Center on the 2nd floor of the Vermont History Center! Visitors can tour the facilities, view select artifacts curated there, and learn what they reveal about the lives of the ancient and historic people who made them. Visitors will also be able to watch demonstrations of students creating high-resolution digital three-dimensional models of Native artifacts.
