Kathleen Stankevich has been a Congressional Aide to Senator Patrick Leahy, served as the Special Assistant to Governor Madeleine Kunin and was Executive Director of the Vermont Bar Association. She is currently the Program Coordinator for the Russian American Rule of Law Consortium.

Kathleen Stankevich is a native of Springfield, Vermont. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C. and spent several years as a Congressional Aide to Senator Patrick Leahy. Stankevich moved back to Vermont in 1978 and worked with Madeleine Kunin on her political campaigns, before being selected by Governor Kunin to be ner Special Assistant in 1984. In 1991, Stankevich became the Executive Director of the Vermont Bar Association and the Vermont Karelia Rule of Law Project. She continued in this capacity until 1997 and is currently the Program Coordinator for the Russian American Rule of Law Consortium, which pairs American states with Russian territories and works together to improve legal systems. Stankevich is also the Assistant Treasurer of the town of Springfield.
