Orlando S. Turner of Moretown, Vt., enlisted as a Private in Co. D, 2nd Vermont Regiment, on May 7, 1861, and was promoted to Corporal on October 21, 1861. He re-enlisted on January 31, 1864, and was subsequently promoted to Sergeant on July 19, 1864, and then to 1st Sergeant on February 7, 1865. On June 7, 1865, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, and on July 15, 1865, was mustered out of service with the rank of 1st Sergeant.
