The Stowe History Room is located in the Akeley Memorial Building, which is the town hall. The society has also restored the one-room Bloody Brook schoolhouse that is located next to the Helen Day Art Center. Collections are of 19th-century decorative arts, clothing, small household furnishings, tools, photographs, and military memorabilia. The schoolhouse contains books and school-related items. The society's newest preservation project involves moving the District #2 West Branch School/St. John's in the Mountains to its new home in the village next to the Bloody Brook School. When moved and completely restored, the schoolhouse will be the new expanded home of the Stowe Historical Society's collection and programs. The society's hope is to create a "cultural campus" in the village that will encompass the Helen Day Art Center, the Bloody Brook schoolhouse, and the West Branch schoolhouse.

Hours and Admission: Tuesday and Friday 10:00am - 12:30 pm, or by appointment. Free. Handicapped accessible through rear door.
