Vermont's History Day is part of the National History Day network. Vermont History Day 2013 will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Spaulding High School in Barre. Students who place first or second with a superior or excellent rating at the state competition are eligible to proceed to the National History Day finals on June 9-13, 2013 at the University of Maryland, College Park, near Washington DC.

Who can enter?

National History Day winners from Black River AcademyAll Vermont students in grades 5-12 and home study students ages 10-18 are eligible for Vermont History Day.

Successful entries show a clear relation to the annual theme and an understanding of the historical significance of the chosen topic. Students meet with judges at the state contest and receive feedback about their projects.
