Camp Griffin VA Feb 14th 1862

Dear Sister and Frankey

I wrote to you some time ago but have got no answer yet but hope to soon But as I have time I will write for purhaps you have not rec'd it yet there was two letters from Jennie in the letters I hope you will get it soon if you have not. my health is good as usualI am doing duty now the weather is nice and pleasant the weeds is geting dried up we shall move soon I expect. I had A letter from father yesterday he is well and is at Roses yet in Boston Mass Uncle Aseph has got sixty nine dollars of my money and if you want A little to use send to him and get it He is going to send me A Box I expect soon The Burnside Expedition has gained at A great Victory She has taken Roanoke Island and killed one thousands men and taken two thousands Prisoners and taken the whole Rebel Fleet of Gun Boats and Burned Elizabeth Sissy we shall have them well cornered soon they will have to give up soon and surrender to the Gallant Banner of stars and stripes the flour of our Country give my love to Elisa and Caty and tell them to be good girls and mind Aunt Salley also little Frank give my love to him and tell him to be A good Boy. my respects to Aunt S and all inquirers here I will close by saying goods by from your friends
