Adult tour groups are welcome to visit the Vermont History Museum’s permanent exhibit, Freedom and Unity: One Ideal, Many Stories. This exhibit covers over 400 years of Vermont history. Visitors can explore an Abenaki wigwam, examine the impact of the railroad, and immerse themselves in a World War-II era living room.

Museum tours

At the museum, adult tour groups can participate in a guided tour or self-guided tour of Freedom and Unity: One Ideal, Many Stories for a small fee. Most guided tours for adult groups are 60 minutes long.

Vermont State House

Many tour groups combine their visit to the Vermont History Museum with a tour of the nearby Vermont State House. For more information about visiting the State House, please contact the Sergeant-at-Arms office at (802) 828-2228.

Vermont Heritage Galleries

At the Vermont History Center, adult tour groups can participate in a guided tour or self-guided tour of the three Vermont Heritage Galleries exhibits for a small fee. Most guided tours for adult groups are 60 minutes long.
