Let your students see and touch history as they learn by using one of the Vermont History Kits.
Each kit contains artifacts and primary sources (reproductions) and includes a teacher's guide and extensive lesson plans. The kits also contain maps, videos, cassettes, photos, and other reference material designed to make each kit flexible and easy to use. The lessons and activities align with Vermont's Framework of Standards.
Each kit is available for a three-week rental period. See the chart below for current pricing. We will enclose the invoice in the kit. Payment can be made using a purchase order or check.
You pick up the kit at the Vermont Historical Society (either Barre or Montpelier location) and return the kit. Pick-up schedule must be arranged in advance.
The kit will be delivered to you. The borrower/school is responsible for the return shipping costs. Kits can also be dropped off at either location.
The kit will be delivered to your school and picked up at the end of the rental period by a courier service. This option is available only for schools in the service area of the courier (which includes most, but not all, of Vermont).
To reserve a history lending kit, e-mail Victoria Hughes at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (802) 828-1413. Please reserve early if you need a kit at a specific time during the year.
