Vermont People, Places and Ideas

Offered the second WEDNESDAY and the second THURSDAY of each month, September 2017 through May 2018, 1:00 to 3:00 pm

All programs will take place at the Vermont History Museum, 109 State Street, Montpelier (directions).

Cost is $8 per child per class. Families with three or more children participating in a class or for members of the Vermont Historical Society, cost is $6.50 per child per class. Parents and non-participating children are free.

Recommended for children ages 7 to 12. Some activities include reading and writing. Pre-registration is REQUIRED; space is limited.

Each session includes history-related activities that focus on the month's theme.

Learn about well-known Vermonters like Ethan Allen and others, like Clarina Howard Nichols, who should be more well-known.

Examine works of art by Paul Sample and Thomas Waterman Wood and learn how they captured Vermont stories.

Explore how Vermont's state government works and visit the Vermont State House.
