Here is a list of organizations which can offer assistance to your local historical society, museum or other community heritage project:

The Preservation Trust of Vermont

A nonprofit that assists the statewide effort to preserve and use our historic architectural resources, the cultural landscape, and fabric of our communities.

Vermont Department of Libraries

A state department which provides a variety of library and information services to state government, libraries statewide, the general public, and Vermonters with special needs.

Vermont Division for Historic Preservation

Through grants, review and compliance, and the operation of a statewide system of State-owned historic sites, they foster protection, research, education and interpretation of Vermont's historic resources.

Vermont League of Cities & Towns

A nonprofit offering educational workshops and consultations on a wide range of municipal issues, information to help the public better understand local government, support for legislation that strengthens local government, and insurance coverage for municipalities.

Vermont Old Cemetery Association

A member-based organization preserving and restoring Vermont's cemeteries. The association also publishes newsletters and provides technical assistance and funding.

Vermont State Archives and Records Administration

A state agency which preserves and gives access to Vermont's permanent state records and information.

Town Charter Commemorations

A resource for ideas and assistance in creating a commemoration of town charter anniversaries.

Free Museum Passes for Public Library Patrons

All Vermont public libraries can sign up for a family museum pass which patrons can "check out" the same way they would check out a book, CD or other item from your library.
