There are close to 200 historical societies throughout the state that work to document the history of particular towns or regions. Often these organizations have resources that are not available at the Vermont Historical Society. Please contact these organizations, arranged by county in the menu to the left, directly for additional information.

Please know most of these groups are volunteer organizations without a full-time staff to answer inquiries.
