The Vermont Historical Society is seeking an Education Intern to assist the Museum and Public Programs Department during the 2018 spring semester. The Education Intern will have the opportunity to gain a wide variety of practical experience working at the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier. Working closely with the Museum and Education Manager, the Education Intern will assist with the coordination and implementation of school programs, History for Homeschoolers, the Vermont History Day competition and other programs. Ideal candidates will enjoy working with children and adults, be detail oriented and able to work independently. Applicants should be undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in history, education, museum studies, American studies, or similar fields. The internship consists of 15-20 hours per week for 12-15 weeks. A small stipend is available. Applicants should send a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 10, 2018.
We welcome people who can help us share and preserve Vermont history—and we love our volunteers! If you would like to volunteer, please contact Diane Campbell at (802) 479-8503 or email@example.com. We always need help with greeting people at our Vermont History Museum in Montpelier or the Vermont History Center in Barre. You can also be a guide for student groups at either location. Some volunteers are a whiz at preparing mailings and others prefer assisting in the library. Let us know how you can help!
