I want the best of all for when these young seeds grow, they are going to need you (the people listening), as they need the sunshine, the joy of the universe…Wabanaki Prayer for the Seeds (Traditional)

The Seeds of Renewal Project's introductory-level Indigenous planting program is designed for farmers, gardeners, anthropologists, and people generally interested in food systems. It is taught by Dr. Frederick M. Wiseman, an ethnobotanist with experience in desert Southwest, Mexico, Central America, and Wabanaki food systems. He is the author of The Seven Sisters… (2018), the definitive work on Wabanaki food systems. It introduces the various types of traditional American Abenaki field clearance, mound system construction, planting strategies, and fish fertilizing. We will also consider garden forest construction as well.

The program is free, but space is limited and registration is required.
